Gold Plate Dinner

I soon learned that a small group from Ottawa’s Greek Community, led by Steve, had started the Gold Plate in 1985 and the Dinner had grown to be a successful community fundraiser, raising on average about $60,000 a year for the HCO.

Challenge

After 23 years of chairing the event, Steve Ramphos knew that for the Gold Plate to grow and raise significantly more money for the HCO and it partner beneficiaries, he needed to dramatically change the event. First on his list were improvements to its branding and sponsorship marketing. Second, he wanted changes to the major production aspects of the event, especially the venue decor, lighting, stage management and the food and beverage service.
